The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a preventative well check schedule to promote the health of your child.
Please make well check appointments for your child at the following ages:We are your first source of help when your child is sick
As your child’s pediatrician, we will treat nearly any illness or condition for your child. If your child is experiencing a life-threatening problem, you should call 911. If it is not a life-threatening condition, please call our office for an appointment or advice. We treat most illnesses including colds, ear and sinus infections, sore throats, fevers, coughs, rashes, headaches, stomach pains, urine issues, bowel problems, vomiting, and injuries.
We specialize in childhood chronic conditions including asthma, allergies, prematurity, obesity, developmental delay, congenital and genetic disorders, complex conditions, and behavioral issues such as ADHD. For some conditions, we may work closely with pediatric specialists to deliver the best care for your child.
We understand traffic and life can be unpredictable. If you are running a few minutes late, please call ahead. We may need to find another appointment time for you so that we can spend enough time with you and your child. If you arrives more than fifteen-minutes after their appointment time, the appointment may be rescheduled and our office’s policy generates a rescheduling fee.
To cancel a well check appointment, please call or text APPT to 703-391-0900 at least 24 hours before your appointment. A missed appointment fee is charged for appointments not cancelled 24 hours in advance. To cancel any other office visit, please call or text APPT to 703-391-0900 at least 2 hours before your appointment to avoid a missed appointment fee.

An advice nurse will review your child’s records and assist you with the refill. Depending on the situation, you may be advised that an appointment is needed. Requests generated by your pharmacy are handled similarly.
It is our goal at FPA to be your child’s medical home. To do this, we believe strongly in offering comprehensive and convenient services. We are pleased to offer the following in our office and continue to look for more ways to serve you and your family.
We will need signed authorization from the parent or guardian to treat a minor child not accompanied by his/her parent or guardian. We cannot provide medical care without this authorization. The “Consent to Treat” form is available. Please print and bring the form along to the appointment. All new patients must be accompanied by their parents or guardian for their first well check and office visit with the practice.
Having a child sick enough to require going into the hospital is a stressful situation for any family. Should your child need to be hospitalized, we will make all of the arrangements needed for the admission. We primarily use Inova Fairfax Children's Hospital, INOVA Loudoun and Children’s National Medical Center. Inpatient pediatricians (called Hospitalists) will care for your child while in the hospital. Our Care Coordinator will assist you and your family with discharge planning, making follow-up appointments, and setting up home care if needed.
Congratulations! For expecting families, we offer Prenatal Visits in-office and via zoom so that you may meet one of our providers and get more information about the practice. These visits are offered on the 1st Thursday in the Greenbriar (Fairfax) office, the 3rd Thursday in Brambleton, and the 2nd & 4th Thursday via Zoom. We are able to see up to 4 families per session.

You will be asked to identify your pediatrician when you are admitted to the hospital for your delivery. Please give the name of one of our doctors and the hospital will identify us as your baby’s pediatrician. The hospital pediatrician (called a hospitalist) will examine your newborn each day in the hospital and will order any necessary tests or procedures. In general, mom and baby will be in the hospital for two days for a vaginal delivery and three days for a caesarean section delivery.

Your baby's first office appointment should be one to two days after you leave the hospital.
We support and recommend breastfeeding for all babies. We highly recommend you make an appointment with our lactation specialist. This is a separate appointment and is best done after mom’s breastmilk has fully come in (usually on day four to five). We recommend having a breast pump prior to your baby’s delivery so that you can use it the first week if needed.
If you are transferring to Fairfax Pediatric Associates, welcome! For all new patients, we request that immunization records be submitted to the office ASAP before your initial appointment with us. We would love to have complete medical records transferred over, but immunization records will be a good starting point. As a courtesy, we can reach out to your previous practice to request medical records. Ultimately, it is the parents responsibility to provide us with the complete medical records for the patient.

We participate with most major insurances in our area. We do not accept Medicaid insurance policies for new patients. Parents are required to pay all co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles at the time services are rendered. We will submit your claim to your insurance company, and you will be responsible for any remaining balances. Note that all newborns should be added to your insurance policy within 30 days to avoid any timely filing issues! If timely payment cannot be made, please call our billing department at (703) 391-0900 to see if special arrangements can be made. All patients receive the same high-quality care in our office regardless of insurance.
We are happy to assist with the completion of health forms, such as school or camp forms, at the time of your annual well-check visit for no additional charge. Forms that are dropped off at other times have a completion fee to cover professional and staff time. Please allow three to five business days for processing for a $15 fee/per form. Rush service is available if needed. We can expedite completion to a 24-hour turnaround for a $30 fee.
Specialist referrals will be given if your insurance requires it and it is medically appropriate. When our doctor recommends that your child see a specialist, you may be given a specific doctor, or you can choose from your plan’s directory.
Once you have scheduled your appointment with the specialist, call our office to obtain a referral. Please allow two business days for processing.
We will keep you informed about the office schedule availability, flu shot clinics, pediatric news and special events with Facebook, Instagram, emails and our website.
We will provide you with a copy of your child’s medical record for a fee upon receipt of a written request signed by the parent or legal guardian. Please allow two weeks for our staff to process your request.
Medical Records will be placed on a USB drive or printed on paper per request of the family. Medical Records USB’s can be created for a $22 fee (if picked up from the Greenbriar (Fairfax) office), or $25 fee (if mailed to your home). Paper records will start at a $20 price point and will be additional 15¢/per page.
For free immediate access to your child’s records, use your online patient portal account which gives you information such as immunizations, vitals, medication lists, allergies, and more!
